Choral, Chamber, and Solo

Beyond his studies at the Curtis institute of Music and The Juilliard School, Terence J. Flanagan has worked alongside and learned from some of the choral giants in the field, most notably Arthur Sjogren (Pro Arte Singers, Charis Chamber Voices) and the late Dr. Richard Westenburg (Musica Sacra, Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church). He also studied privately with Marguerite L. Brooks, Associate Professor of Choral Conducting and Chair of the Program of Choral Conducting at the Yale Institute of Sacred Music and Yale School of Music.

Comfortable working with professional singers and volunteers alike, Terry loves the role of voice in sacred music. From weekly anthems and service music to annual cantatas and other large works, he finds joy in finding the best music to support the week's message.

In his current position, Terry has conducted annual larger scale works with his choir and guest musicians including:  Rutter’s Gloria, Bach Cantatas (BWV 4, 106, 131, 150 and 196) and Vivaldi’s Gloria

In addition to working with his weekly Congregational Choir, Adult Handbell and Youth Handbell choirs, Terry enjoys programming smaller groups of singers and instrumentalists, accompanying them on organ, harpsichord or piano.
